A Chow Life | About

Hi There.

Thanks for visiting me.

People call me Robin, Freckles, or the Red Menace. You can choose. I have red hair, freckles, and a menacing attitude. So I suppose all of the above are appropriate.

A couple of years ago, my boyfriend, who was enjoying the fruits of my culinary labors, suggested I start a blog. I had no idea what a blog was. In fact, I’d never seen one before that suggestion. However, it seemed like a good idea. I was tired of hoarding scraps of paper, sticky-notes, and computer printouts of recipes and ideas. In a sense, the blog was a way to go “green” or paperless.

It turned into so much more. I’ve met such lovely people who encourage me to cook more, explore more, and play more. Thank you for that. You certainly keep this thing, whatever it is, running.

Many readers ask about the photos. I’m so glad you like them. Most of them are taken by my dear husband, Kirk. (We got married last year!) I often refer to Kirk as K out of pure laziness. Kirk is a professional photographer. I feel very lucky in this respect. He loves to document our meals and our lives. He is also very talented at documenting the lives of others and, in particular, weddings. Give him a ring if you are interested. He would love to hear from you!

And, finally, I am a writer. I love what I do and am available for freelance food articles and lifestyle pieces.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or thoughts. I would love to hear from you! achowlife[at]gmail.com
